Save “Surface” Campaign Far From Dead

September 16, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 10 Comments

Yesterday, serious fans began “The Great Tsunami Campaign,” a weeklong letter-writing campaign (in addition to the currrent petition drive) to persuade Kevin Reilly, the president of NBC entertainment, to bring the show back. According to Patti Milner, one of the campaign organizers, the fans hope “that we will make an impression on any future decision to air future seasons of Surface.”

Fans are also planning to write to the Sci Fi Channel, which is considered the most likely new home for “Surface” – but which has declined to pick up the show because of the costs.

“Surface” was created by brothers Josh and Jonas Pate, both born in Winston-Salem, and filmed largely in Wilmington. It was canceled after a single season, which is now available on DVD.

Please, bring Surface back. I really enjoyed the series with a very promising cliffhanger

I’m sure one of the reasons Surface was cancelled is because series two whould have to be so big – budget and story-wise. A flooded world, underground city? Big bucks.
I do hope they bring it back though. It’s m y favourite show (bar Lost) of the last couple of years.

we are tryting to find all the fans who emailed the various surface websites last year as there is a new campaign now to bring it back – program director at nbc is gone and they are looking for some good programing so go to savesurface.com and clik on petition and then on boards and join and add your opinion on surface – moderator is trying to get enough petitions to submit to nbc

I believe this has to be the best show i have ever seen.
My whole family loves it, and even my little sister, and brother. Not only adults like it, i like it too! My grammy told me i’d be dissapointed of how it ended, and i was you never got to the main part! I hope you all can bring it back. I’ll keep my hopes high, because i really want it back just like a lot of people out there in the world.

Well…it’s mid-January, 2008 and my family and I still miss Surface! If it’s too expensive to bring back–maybe a movie or min-series to bring closure to the story???!
It really has been one of my all favorite programs!

Surface was a great show to watch. I really enjoyed it and I wish the show would come back on. I dont have the scifi channel, so would love to see it come back to a major network. Surface and Invasion were on in the same season. I got them both as soon as they came out on DvD. Forgive me for mentioning a show from another network, but they were two great shows that I enjoyed and watched them faithfully. Please bring Surface back. Thank you
