McAvoy Headlines Wanted

Russian director Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch) has cast James McAvoy (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) as the lead in his new SF action/thriller called “Wanted.”
The highly graphic and explicit comic book serial from Mark Miller and J,G, Jones, on which the movie will be based, is the story about a man who soon discovers that his dad is a for-hire assassin. He finds this out after the death of his father and once he is sought out by the same organization his father worked for to be his dad’s replacement.
The script will be penned by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt (2 Fast 2 Furious). “Wanted” will be Bekmambetov’s introduction to a totally English speaking film.
McAvoy, who also starred in the critically acclaimed SCI FI miniseries “Children of Dune” as Leto Atreides II, has not been at a loss for parts to play since his gig as Mr. Tumnus, the Faun
in the Chronicles of Narnia epic. He is currently starring in five other major films also soon to be released. The most anticipated, which he has just wrapped up shooting, is “The Last King of Scotland” starring opposite the great Forest Whitaker (The Shield) as the horrendeously corrupt and brutal Ugandan dictator Idi Amin. Also starring in The Last King is “X-Files” Gillian Anderson.
