It’s That Fracken Kraken

We all know how bad those SCI FI Channel Saturday-night movies can be most of the time. In fact, we think quite possibly even SCI FI knows how bad they are. But, they keep treading them out anyway and on September 23rd they are going to release a real slimy one about a giant squid right out of old Scandinavian lore.

kraken.bmpTo get scifi and creature-feature fans into this one early, last month SCI FI asked their viewers to log into SCIFI.COM and come up with a name for the big squid flick which will star Victoria Pratt, Charlie O’Connell and Jack Scalia. Fans responded in droves and the winner came up with this little gem called “Kraken: Tentacles of the Deep.” Hey, the title alone is worth a few minutes of my time to take a gander at it.

Here are list of some of the losers that didn’t get picked. Everyone a winner in my book for the typical Saturday fare:

  • Tentacles Eight: Humans Two”
  • “Stop or My Squid Will Shoot”
  • “Two Guys, a Girl and a Giant Squid,
  • and my favorite – “Killamari”

“Kraken: Tentacles of the Deep” is the story about how a marine archeologist and sailor search for a coveted artifact, but must figure out how to survive when faced with a terrifying giant squid that seems to be protecting the very relic they so desperately desire.

If your curiosity has as gotten the better of you too “Kraken” will premiere this September 23rd at 9PM ET/PT.

“The Fatal Giant Squid of Deadly Dooooooooooom!”

Or, alternately, “CSI: Miami.” Have you taken a good look at David Caruso lately?
