Actress Mary McCormack (K-PAX, Mystery Alaska, ER, West Wing) has checked into room “1408” and will be joining John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson in this audiobook/short story by Stephen King about an investigator who makes a living out of debunking claims about the paranormal. However, when he takes on the case of Room “1408,” a room well known by the locals at the Dolphin Hotel for its frightening tales of the supernatural, he comes face to face with a terror he cannot deny.
John Cusack plays the investigator and McCormack will play his wife. The role was originally handed to Greys Anatomy’s Kate Walsh, but she had to back out due to conflicts between the ABC hit show and the movie’s shooting schedule.
Dimension Films will distribute the film and Mikael Hafstrom (Derailed) will direct.

So, it started as an audiobook and is now being made into a movie?
Yep!
… with side trips into the collection “Everything’s Eventual,” as well as being an object lesson in his “On Writing. 🙂
