Weekend Box Office Final – August 4 – 6, 2006

August 7, 2006 By Sam Sloan Leave a Comment

All Genre Films in BOLD.

Big News: After 31 days in theaters, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” claims nearly $380 million in B.O. and slides to third place.

“Barnyard,” the anatomically incorrect animated feature pulls into a surprising second place, Robin Williams’ dark SF thriller “The Night Listener,” not expected to fall in the Top 20, has fooled the odds makers and found a comfortable number 10 B.O. slot, and Will Ferrell wins the race with his Nascar spoof.

1. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby – $47,000,000

2. Barnyard – $16,040,000

3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest – $379,709,000

4. Miami Vice – $45,740,000

5. The Descent – $8,800,000

6. John Tucker Must Die – $28,623,000

7. Monster House – $56,952,000

8. The Ant Bully – $18,161,000

9. You, Me and Dupree – $66,782,000

10. The Night Listener – $3,600,000
