McClane Takes on Terrorism In D.C.

09-willis-inside.jpeThe Bruce Willis signature “Die Hard” movie sequel has undergone a couple of name changes. It once had a working title of “Die Hard 4: Reset” and again as “Die Hard IV: Dead On Time,” but now been retooled as “Live Free or Die Hard.” I think the suits will probably stick with this one.

It has been nearly 12-years since the last Die Hard movie and in this one, Detective John McClane (Willis) tries to stop a techno-terrorist from shutting down the nation’s computer systems on the Fourth of July. The story is to be centered in Washington, D.C.

“Our villain is high tech, but the way McClane deals with him is low-tech,” Director Len Wiseman told the USA newspaper in an interview. “A fistfight still solves a lot of problems.” He concluded that the fourth outing “will be a more epic movie. It’s on a much grander scale. The threat is nationwide.”

This next and fourth installment of the highly successful franchise is looking at the 2007 July 4th weekend for a release date. Filming is scheduled to begin in September of this year.

It has also been reported that Justin Long (from Jeepers Creepers and Galaxy Quest) has joined the cast for Die Hard 4.
