“LOST,” last year’s big Emmy winner for Outstanding Drama Series, was virtually ignored this year. This came as quite a shock to crew and cast as the show has only gotten better over the last season.
The only notable exception was actor Henry Ian Cusick who guest stars as Desmond. He got the nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. While I think all LOST fans will agree that he deserved the nomination, he should not be the only member of the cast on that Emmy short-list and Cusick agrees.
The other nominations for the critcally acclaimed J.J. Abrams series are, Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Writing For a Drama Series, and Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series. All good nominations and nothing to be sneered at, but comon’, how do you get better with each season and then totally ignored by the Emmy academy? I’m feeling a little lost over it all.

Good point! My biggest wonder is why they have to nominate ‘The Sopranos’ and ‘The West Wing’ year after year. In my opinion, ‘The Sopranos’ hasn’t been the same since the first simply awesome season. As for ‘The West Wing’ … I have a feeling that it will get the win, even though I’m rooting for ’24.’

To quote a certain clown.
Those idiots wouldn’t know talent if it bit them in the HEY

Errr… sorry. The second season of LOST was an excruciating experience. The pace, which was already slow in season one, got even slower as they added even more characters. LOST was already pushing it with so many characters in the original group, and added Ana Lucia’s group was detrimental to the show.
I’m not fan of award shows, but it’s no surprise that the second season of LOST was not recognized. It was worse than the first.

Rick, you must be on the academy. 🙂

The second season was MORE interesting than the first season. I looked forward to watching it more than the first season. It made me think more, trying to deduce what’s happening on the island. The first season wasn’t really like that. And they didn’t add THAT many new characters to the show (mainly just four – uh huh, yeah, that’s really a lot there), and they killed off a few too. So it all just evens out.

I’m pretty shocked but not surprised since there’s a new system this year for the Emmy’s.
Plus, the first season was NOwhere as good as season two. Season two added more excitement and advanced the plot more. I can’t believe that a season better than the previous emmy awarded one couldn’t get a nod. Don’t care if they win or not, just a nomination at least.
