To celebrate the premeire of SciFi Channel’s “Eureka” on July 18, Slice of SciFi teams with and The SciFi Channel to present a special “Eureka Prize Giveaway Contest” for our listeners. All of our listeners of the show and visitors to the Slice of SciFi Website are eligible regardless of your country of residence.
“EUREKA,” which will premiere on the US SciFi Channel Network on July 18th, is a village nestled in the Pacific Northwest, and it is a small town with big secrets. Shrouded in secrecy, the picturesque hamlet is actually a community of scientific geniuses assembled by the government to conduct top-secret research. What they’ve unwittingly created is a place where anything imaginable can happen… and does.
All entries must be in Sam’s email box by July 13, 2006 at 6:00 PM (US CST). Any emails for the contest received after that date and time are not eligible. He will read through every entry submitted and pick the winner who will be announced on our July 19th show and on our website, one day after the premiere of Eureka on the cable network. Your email entry must also include your full name and the mailing address where you would like your prize shipped to if your entry is chosen as the winner.
Disclaimer: Staffers and employees — whether paid or volunteers — are not eligible.
Our third place winner will be the recipient of the DVD copy of Season One of the “Ghost Hunter” series.
The second place winner gets a DVD of the Sci-Fi Channel hit miniseries “The Triangle,” which starred Sam Neill, Eric Stoltz, Catherine Bell and Lou Diamond Phillips.
The Grand Prize winner will receive the DVD release for Season Two of the mega-hit “Battlestar Galactica” and a Sci-Fi Channel Messenger Bag.
So, to have the chance to win one of these great prizes be sure to get those emails with your scientific project idea in to Sam before 6:00 PM CST (US) on July 13th.

Hey Sam, awesome contest, just sent in my entry. Just wondering, is the grand prize just BSG 2.0, or will the 2.5 DVD also be part of the prize? Just wondering, either way its a great prize. Thanks.
From what I can gather from my contact, it is just 2.0.
Alright cool, thanks.
Quick aside on the reaction by the guys to Keith Richards possibly making an appearance in PotC 3: Depp has always said Jack Sparrow is his own homage/impression of Keith Richards, so the fact that Richards might make an appearance in PotC 3 is only fitting.
I really enjoyed the interview segment this time around. It’s important for the dreams of Science Fiction to continue to inspire the next generation’s science facts.
21 Jump Street??? Please God say no
The Watchmen?? hell yeah, Love that
hmmmm that Scott Westerfield trilogy sounds interesting
I loved the interview. I currently work on the James Webb Space Telescope and appreciate someone talking about the challenges of space exploration.
