Bollywood Superhero “Krrish” Creates Box Office Frenzy

July 3, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 9 Comments

“Krrish” is Bollywood’s answer for the famous American icon Superman. This new superhero has brought super profits to India’s film industry.

“Krrish” (a derivative of the Indian name Krishna), centers around a Superman-clone who also sings, dances and saves humanity from a myriad of calamities brought about by a mad scientist. It is one of India’s top-rated and top-selling flicks and is expected to earn $22 million by this weekend alone.

That’s a lot of rupees (1 billion in all).
