Shane Felux, creator of the very successful fan film “Star Wars: Revelations” has completed his latest feature called “Pitching Lucas.”
While this 8-minute short film from Felux’s Panic Struck Productions is nowhere near the achievement of his “Revelations” endeavor, it was never intended to be.
“Pitching Lucas” is a comedic, satirical look at cheeseball television execs trying to sell George Lucas on their script idea for a Star Wars project. Their grating attempt makes George go over to the ‘Dark Side.’
Felux has worked on many entertainment projects over the years since graduating from Southwest Texas State with his BFA in Directing and Acting. Some of the feature work he has been involved with were Christopher Guest’s “Waiting for Guffman,” “Leap of Faith” with Steve Martin and Kevin Bacon’s “Hollowman.”
In 2005 he developed the idea for a fan film called “Star Wars: Revelations” and made it available for free download on the internet. Felux’s dream project became an immediate hit with fans all over the world setting records by scoring over 3 million downloads in only 2-months. The only other fan film project at the time with that kind of clout was the James Cawley/Jack Marshall collaborated production of the “Star Trek: New Voyages” internet series.
Shane and his work have been reported on by all the major news industry giants from FOX, CNN to the LA Times. He is also a member of the production staff at SciFi Studios along with Jack Marshall, Manny Coto, Jim Uhls and an ever-growing list of professional directors, producers and writers.
His new 8-minute short has been nominated for the 2006 Atom Film Star Wars award. You can watch “Pitching Lucas” at this Atom Films LINK.
