Creative Screenwriting Magazine caught up with writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, partners with J.J. Abrams on “Mission Impossible: 3.” They spoke a little about the scripting that is currently being considered for the motion picture “STAR TREK: XI”.
Wanting to assure fans that they and Abrams know and have great respect for the mythos that surrounds this iconic franchise, they promised that their story will remain “totally true to the mythology and totally true to what’s to come there.”
Kurtzman and Orci revealed that they and Abrams will be working with and embracing STAR TREK’s rich history by using characters we are already very familiar with in the STAR TREK universe and will be introducing new ones as well.
This is a relief for me. I was fearing that they would restart the Star Trek series. Now I see that they won’t. Good. There are plenty more stories that can be told.
