Starship Troopers 3? Oh Say It Isn’t So!

June 5, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 8 Comments

Rumor control has it that Hollywood is interested in making a third Starship Trooper flick. Even Casper Van Dien, who starred in the first successful film has been harping on the possiblity at his website. However, apart from saying that the script for part 3 is awesome and that he has risen to the rank of General, (not bad for someone who started out as a buck private), Casper is mum on any other details.

The first film, while it digressed a great deal from the book, was a relative success and when a second was announced many fans were eager for it. But, it didn’t star any of the primaries from the first, went straight to DVD and sucked so back that after all these years my ears still pop just thinking about it. Let’s hope that if and when this one see’s the light of day our heads won’t explode.

I love bad movies. I own shark attack 3. But I never could make it through starship troopers 2.

Don’t hold your breath. Without Verhoven at the helm I doubt it’ll amount to much- even if they get Casper on board. The last few movies I saw him in were of the sci-fi channel saturday night special variety.

Did anyone actually SEE the second one? I mean literally SEE it. It looked like the lens cap was on the camera the entire frakin time. Like Karl I love bad flicks too, specially sci-action, but this was just too bad.

So really, theres nowhere to go BUT up with 3, right?

I think Starship Troopers 2 would have been better if told in the animated format, which it seem to borrow more from than the first movie. It wasn’t Wing Commander suck and thought it was worth the rent.

    The weapons fire was godawful.

Cripes. I walked out on the first of these movies, and I also didn’t know they’d inflicted a second on us. Well, the entertainment industry that spawned “reality TV” has no limit to the depths to which it can sink–and here’s evidence.

A third Starship Troopers film. Awsome. The first film was a really good movie. I own it and watched it. buy the game, soundtrack and all marked with a sticker that sayed ‘Starship Troopers’. When I see a second one was released, I buyed it. It sucked as the worst movi ever. The only I can tell is that if a third film of ST is in proccess, at least make a good second sequel. The no. 2 really sucked.
