“The Fountain” Flows This Fall

June 1, 2006 By News Droid 2 Comments

After stalls, delays, star walk-outs and production halts, Warner Bros.’ production of “The Fountain” gets its release date. The Darren Aronofsky film starring Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz will be in theaters October 13, 2006.

“The Fountain” is the SF story about timeless love that spans a thousand years over three story arcs. After Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett walked out of the project, Jackman and Weisz stepped in to fill the vacancy. The movie will co-star Ellen Burstyn, Donna Murphy and Sean Patrick Thomas.

I’ve been waiting for this movie for some time now. Glad to see it’s on its way!

I saw this in a test screening a few weeks ago. It was brilliant and difficult and freakin’ amazing. Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz are both amazing, but especially Hugh in a role that is emotionally intense. Really great stuff. I’m looking forward to seeing it again.
