First it was Wayne, Austin and Dr. Evil, and then the big green lovable orge known as Shrek. Now Mike Myers, one of only a handful of really successful alum of Saturday Night Live, will be starring in “How to Survive a Robot Uprising” for Paramount Pictures.
The comedy film is based on Daniel H. Wilson’s doctoral manuscript when he was a candidate at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The story centers on a technical overseer who becomes alarmed at the growing presence of robots within human society. He develops a plan to stop the robots from taking over by revolt and becoming the dominant force in Earth’s affairs. The screenwriting team of Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant (Reno 911) have been given script duty to adapt the thesis for Myers’ comedy style.
While this project is in the pre-production phase Myers is busy providing his voice to the third installment of the Shrek franchise.
