“Kingdom Hospital”: Be Admitted At Your Own Peril

April 10, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 3 Comments

This Tuesday one of my favorite actors Ed Begley, Jr. joins an ensemble cast consisting of Bruce Davison, Jack Coleman, the wonderful Diane Ladd and Andrew McCarthy in a revisit to Stephen King’s “Kingdom Hospital.”

King tells the terrifying story of The Kingdom, a hospital with a bizarre population that includes a totally inept chief physician, a nearly blind security guard, a nurse who regularly faints at the sight of blood, and a paraplegic artist whose recovery is a step beyond miraculous. When patients and staff hear the tortured voice of a little girl crying through the halls, they are dismissive of any suggestion of mysticism or unseen powers … but they ignore this warning at their own peril.

The SciFi Channel premiere will begin the fifteen 1-hour episodes of King’s thriller beginning on April 11, 2006 at 7PM ET and 6PM CT.

Watch the original German “The Kingdom” instead, it has two down syndrome dishwashers as the chorus, brilliant!
