Back on Slice of SciFi #47, we announced that “Jumper,” based on the 1992 Steven Gould novel would be the first in a trilogy to come to the big screen.
At that time director Doug Liman (Mr. & Mrs. Smith) had yet to be given a cast to work with on the David Goyer, Jim Uhls script. Well, now we can share with you that Tom Sturridge (Vanity Fair), Jamie Bell (King Kong) and Teresa Palmer (The Grudge 2) have been signed on to fill the three lead slots in the flick.
Sturridge plays a young man from a broken home who can teleport himself to different locations. Along the way he meets up with Bell’s character and falls in love with Palmer.
Also, at the time of our broadcast the exact shooting schedule had yet to be released, but that too is now in ink. Shooting on “Jumper” will begin in Montreal, Canada this spring.
