Steve Carrell, the star of the upcoming sequel to “Bruce Almighty” called “Evan Almighty: The Passion of the Ark,” now has had a wife added to the script. Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) will join the flick as Evan’s wife. Lauren also played opposite Billy Bob Thornton in “Bad Santa.”

In this sequel, Evan Baxter has left the newsroom and has become a politician. One day God (Morgan Freeman) calls on Evan in Washington and instructs him to build another Ark, like Noah’s, because a whole lot of water is on the way.

John Goodman joins the cast as a fellow Congressman who is Evan’s mentor in the ways of Washington politics. While the ever funny lady Wanda Sykes has also come onboard.

“Evan Almighty: The Passion of the Ark” is currently scheduled for a 2007 theater release.
