Benicio Del Toro (21 Grams, Traffic and Sin City) has been cast in the Universal Pictures remake of “The Wolf Man.”

Originally made in 1941 and starring Lon Chaney Jr., the famous man-beast has had many incarnations over the last 65 years, but this one will harken back to the Wolf Man’s glory days.

The script writing duties for “The Wolf Man” couldn’t be in better hands. Andrew Kevin Walker (Seven, Sleepy Hollow) has been tapped to write and bring the character to a 21st Century appeal without loosing what made the horror icon a favorite back in the 1940’s.

Shooting begins next year for a summer 2008 release.
