There is good news coming out of TV Hollywood land for scifi and genre fans. The guy that put scary into “The X-Files,” “Millenium,” “The Lone Gunmen,” “Harsh Realm,” and “Night Stalker,” Frank Spotnitz, has signed a huge 7-figure money deal to stay on at Touchstone Television.
Why is this good for genre fans? Because scifi and horror are Spotnitz’s bread and butter, and that along with gritty cop drama is what he does so brilliantly. So, between now and the end of 2008, when his new contract expires, we may well expect to see more genre entries on television.
Currently Spotnitz and collaborator Vince Gilligan are putting together a 4-hour scifi mini for SPIKE TV called “Amped.”
