A new sixth television network is being created that will snatch up those stations that fell through the cracks during the WB and UPN merger. That marriage created the CW Network. This other new national broadcast service is called My Network TV, or MYN.
MYN will launch on September 5, 2006, the same week as the CW Network debut. MYN has captured major markets in the coveted New York, Los Angeles and Chicago area and at its premiere, will reach about one-quarter of the United States. The new kid on the block will be headed up by Fox TV Stations chairman Roger Ailes and Fox Stations CEO Jack Abernethy.
At the moment MYN’s programing consists of only two shows, both telenovels, “Desire” and “Secrets.”
News corp. CEO Peter Chernin called this creation, “the first program network of the 21st Century.”
In my opinion the jury will be out on this one until it is up and running with a little more to offer than back-to-back steamy soap operas. Not that I don’t like a little steam coming from the set now and again.

They had me right up until the mention of FUX people at the helm. Tell me they quit that network in disgust and are striking out on their own, and I’ll root for this new venture; otherwise, may it stumble and fall on its face before it has the chance to destroy anything good.

My friend and myself won’t watch it because we both wanted Will Tole or the guy who played him

MYN? Shouldn’t they call it AXE for all the programming they’ve chopped in the last dozen years or so?
