Mike and Evo have been talking about the need for simultaneous release of film product for almost a year on the show. Now, Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh (Erin Brockovich) is doing just that with his new film “Bubble.”
Just four days after its theatrical release Soderberg is releasing Bubble on DVD and Television.
Soderbergh believes that “all this stuff needs to be redesigned, the whole thing from top to bottom,” the risk-reward ratio, how people are compensated up front, how they’re compensated on the back. In my view, all this needs to be re-thought.”
We here at Slice of SciFi couldn’t agree more and are glad to see someone in Hollywood of his stature make this kind of much needed change to the entertainment product-release model.
