The USA Network began the trend a few years ago with The Dead Zone. Then CBS got onboard with the critically successful Joan of Arcadia and NBC followed with the highly successful Patricia Arquette vehicle, Medium. More followed with SciFi’s Ghost Hunters, CBS’ Ghost Whisperer and The WB’s Supernatural.
Now it looks like 2006 will be more of the same theme. Late night talk show host Conan O’Brien’s production company Conaco has acquired a supernatural thriller about a murdered politician who is given a second chance at life. He returns to the physical world to save his own soul. The original script’s pilot entitled “The Haskett Chronicles” as been re-entered for a rewrite and overhaul, which is Hollywood talk for, “like the premise, hate the original language.”
