“Yesterday Was A Lie”: Brown Exudes Bacall

January 30, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 3 Comments

Kipleigh Brown (STAR TREK: Enterprise) stars in the James Kerwin scifi mystery Yesterday Was A Lie. John Newton (Desperate Housewives) co-stars along with Chase Masterson (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). Chase is a good friend of Slice of SciFi and has provided us with some of our voice-over work for the show.

The story centers around Hoyle (Brown), a young investigator who is trying to unravel the mystery that is archeologist John Dudas (Newton). Joined by her friend The Singer (Masterson), she digs deeper into the life of the introverted and secretive Dudas and begins to reveal a twisted plot of intrique that involves an earth shaking secret smuggled out of Nazi Germany, a power that can bend reality as we know it and shake the very foundations of the cosmos. The downside to Hoyle? While she may possess a strong and keen investigative mind, her fondness for bourbon tends to get in the way of her skill.

Boldly filmed in black and white this film noir has a real Maltese Falcon and The Big Sleep nostalgic feel to it and the Kristopher Carter musical score Kerwin deftly uses only adds to the surreal atmosphere in the images seen on the screen.

Currently the film is in pre-production and the release date is yet to be announced.
