Keanu Reeves’ next entry into the world of scifi has hit another bump in the road causing a further delay in its release date.
“A Scanner Darkly,” is the screen adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s hearlded novel about a future paranoid world where it is commonplace for neighbor to spy on neighbor and friend to betray friend. The feature co-stars an award winning cast including Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson and Winona Ryder.
As we reported last year, the Richard Linklater film was originally scheduled for a September 2005 release. That was moved to March of this year, and now has been postponed until this summer for a July 2006 theater date.
Reasons for the delays are not clear, however some inside sources cite that it has to do with post-production problems in melding the live action sequences with its highly sophisticated animation processes.

I saw the trailer. If they need more time to make it right, I’m fine with that.
Looks like it’s going to be really interesting.
It’ll give me more time to get around to reading the story before I see the flick.
