Outback Thriller

December 9, 2005 By Kyle Nin Leave a Comment

The Thrill Is In The Hunt

A chilling, factually-based, story of three road-trippers in remote Australia who are plunged into danger when they accept help from a friendly local.

Filmed on location in Australia this Dimensions Film Greg McLean’s thriller is about three college friends on a hiking holiday in the stunningly beautiful but barren Australian Wolf[e] Creek National Park to see its mysterious meteor crater.

When their car breaks down they find themselves trapped in the emptiness of the Outback. With nothing more to do but wait for rescue, with nightfall comes local bushman Mick Taylor, played by John Jarratt (McLeod’s Daughter) with his truck. He offers them a place to stay for the night and promises a tow to safety in the morning. But as the sun comes up the next morning, it becomes shockingly apparent that Mick has no intention of towing or fixing their car, or letting them leave the Outback… ever again.

Wolf Creek also stars Cassandra Magrath (Shock Jock), Andy McPhee (Tom White) and Kestie Marassi (Josh Jarman) and opens in theaters on Christmas Day.
