What’s Up for December 2005 Releases?

November 26, 2005 By S. K. Sloan Leave a Comment

What is happening in Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror next month? We have some important release information for you in Film, Books and DVD.

AT THE MOVIES:

On December 2nd, Aeon Flux makes its big screen debut. It’s 400 years in the future. Aeon Flux (Charlize Theron) is an underground operative at war with a totalitarian regime. The film also stars Marton Csonkas (Kingdom of Heaven) and Frances McDormand (Fargo).

December 9th is the US theatrical release of C.S. Lewis’ “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.” To see the release date of this film in your country visit the IMDB Internet Movie Database.

ON THE BOOKSHELVES:

Peter David’s next STAR TREK: Frontier novel entitled ‘After the Fall’ will see alot of changes since ‘Stone of Anvil’. Captain Elizabeth Shelby is promoted to Admiral and Si Cwan is now the new Prime Minister of The New Thallonian Protectorate. Also look for some changes in the lives of Shelby’s husband, MacKenzie, as well as, those of Zak Kebron and Soleta.

DVD RELEASES:

December is always a big DVD release month because of the holiday season, and this final month of the year 2005 will be a very big one indeed.

Look for the ‘Fantastic Four’ on the 6th and ‘The Island’ on the 13th. Of course December 20th is the sweet-spot for DVD releases and this year Terry Gilliam’s ‘The Brother’s Grimm’, the huge box-office surprise hit ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose’, and the much anticipated ‘Serenity’ will all be out on that coveted day.

Rounding out the month will be the small but intriguing Chinese language film ‘2046’ and the Jennifer Connelly thriller ‘Dark Water’. Look for these on December 26th.
