Two Up for Two-Face?
Batman-on-Film.com has the latest skinny on the sequel to Batman Begins and which actors are rumored for the role of D.A. Harvey Dent, a.k.a. the future villain Two-Face. The next Batman film is said to introduce him as an ally of Batman’s before a third flick establishes him as The Dark Knight’s foe.
Long rumored contender Liev Schreiber (The Manchurian Candidate, Sum of All Fears) recently took part in a chat session over the weekend via his official site where he was asked about the Dent rumors. Schreiber denied knowing about the role but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t consider it.
As BoF points out, ” ‘Yes,’ said Schreiber when asked if he was interested in the role. ‘Write your congressmen now! Sounds like fun to me. Again, I seem to be the last one to hear because I know nothing about it.’ ”
Fanboys also couldn’t help but wonder if Hugh Jackman, best known as Wolverine in the X-Men films, might be in the running for Dent given that his next project will be Nolan’s The Prestige, opposite Batman co-stars Christian Bale and Michael Caine.
BoF ran this past a trusted source of theirs who advised them, “I very much doubt it will happen. Jackman’s got several projects in the works and I don’t know if he would be available to shoot it in 2007. Plus, why would he get involved with another comic book franchise? Anyway, I’m still hearing it is [Liev] Schreiber’s role if he wants it.”
Schreiber is currently filming the remake of The Omen in Prague for a 2006 release.
