We just talked about this on last week’s Slice of SciFi episode, and it’s slowly coming to pass.
NBC has announced a deal to push episodes of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”, “Law & Order: SVU”, “The Office”, and “Surface”, along with USA and SciFi series “Monk” and “Battlestar Galactica” to the DVR’s of DirecTV subscribers. The episodes will be available for one week after their original airings, and can be purchased 99 cents and viewed without commercials.
CBS will be making “CSI”, “NCIS”, “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race” available to Comcast digital cable subscribers in certain markets for 99 cents, as well as making episodes of “Threshold” available from CBS.com.
ABC is already making “Lost” and “Desperate Housewives” available for download for $1.99 through iTunes video.
Video on-demand is poking its head up from depths… add to this the news that Yahoo and TiVo have collaborated to allow TiVo subscribers to remotely programming their DVR’s, and that DirecTV’s newer units may store over 150 hours of programming (compared to the current 35 hours), let’s see where this all goes.

Uncle Sam says
I’ve used iTunes to download some of the LOST episodes I missed and for just $1.99 it was well worth it.
