Who Will Be Wonder Woman?

October 3, 2005 By Kyle Nin 8 Comments

A lot of people are getting in line to play the truth Lariat throwing, tight-shorted lead in Joss Whedon’s big screen sci-fi feature “Wonder Woman.”

The newest in line is Eliza Dushku (Faith in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”).

Dushuku told Wizard World Convention goers this weekend in Boston that she would love to be considered for the lead Wonder Woman. “I would follow that man anywhere,” she told a panel session. “He’s a genius. He writes women and he gets women. It’s not that I’m done with TV, but I hear Joss is doing a little movie called Wonder Woman. I’d slap on the dukes for that.”

Rumor-control has it that Whedon already has his leading lady in mind; Morena Baccarin (Inara of Firefly & Serenity fame).

Many other actresses are licking their lips at the chance to get this part, including, Charisma Carpenter, Kim Basinger, Lucy Lawless, Salma Hayek, Michelle Rodriguez, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sandra Bullock, Nadia Bjorlin, Mischa Barton, and Jennifer Lopez.

Michelle Rodriguez has proved so has the balls to carry any action role, but I can’t see her in this role. Lucy Lawless would make a good queen of the Amazons. As long as Morena can handle the action scenes, she would be awesome in the role.

Lynda Carter is the epitome of Princess Diana, Diana
Prince, and Wonder Woman! The only actress capable of portraying the amazing
amazon as marvelously as Lynda Carter is none other than CARMEN ELECTRA! Ms.
Electra is a trained martial artist, gymnast, and dancer. Her luxurious dark
hair, piercing ocean blue eyes, and voluptuous figure are uncanny to that of
Wonder Woman! Carmen has proven herself as an actress through her work in
television and film projects such as “Scary Movie”, “Summerland”, “Tripping the
Rift”, and even “Baywatch”. Christian Bale is not a household name nor has he
ever received an Academy Award nomination let alone a trophy yet he truly
became Bruce Wayne and Batman. I believe Carmen Electra would embody Diana as
perfectly as her predecessor and Mr. Bale as Batman. Yes, Mr. Whedon has stated
that he would like an actress within her twenties, however, I feel most
actresses in his insisted age range are merely little girls playing dress – up.
Wonder Woman is a WOMAN; the actress should be womanly and exotic. She should
posses the wisdom and intellect of an ADULT. Carmen is thirty – three years of
age and is perfectly capable of seeing the franchise through numerous sequels.
Carmen has stated that she would like to star in an action movie and Wonder
Woman is right up her alley.

The only problem is that she can’t act her way out of a paper bag.
    Sorry.

I think it would ironic if Lucy Lawless would play Wonder Woman, but I think she’d be perfect for the role. Linda Carter should have a cameo as perhaps the Amazon Queen. If not Lucy, then choose a buxom, athletic unknown that can act.

I, would have to say all this talk about wonder woman has really given me the strength, to include myself as the very next runner up to play the princess goddess in the upcoming movie. I am not famous but i have been told by many people that i am a split image of the one and only princess diana. If i could only find a way to submit my pictures out to the directors, so they can be the judge of this wonderful opportunity on their search in finding your first runner up.

If they made the movie a decade ago I would have voted for Cindy Crawford or Brooke shields, with the height and beauty to play Diana. Although not the best acting chops, one can grow with a good director. Lynda didn’t become accomplished until well into the first season.

Since we’re into the next Century, out of today’s stock of “young-ish” female talent I would vote for Jennifer Love Hewitt or Rachel McAdams. Buffed up and confident of course. Chyna looks too much like a guy, and Eva Longoria’s too short.

I hope they keep the “twirl” Lynda made famous.

Ther can be only one fitting choice for Wonder Woman and that is none other than Angeline Joile.. shes perfect in anyway.. perfect body and she could be believable as a Amazon woman and she has the boobs to fill in the costume and she could do her own stunts too.. Rememeber she has lara croft training. she was perfect as lara croft too bad the stories were weak and so on.. none of the aformentioned actress even remotely do Wonder woman justice.. Unless they plan to use CGI to enhance their boobs… Joile is my vote and the perfect choice as for Steve Trevor hmmmm maybe Richard gere as for the Queen of the Amazon Women my choice would be either Cloris Leachman(she played the queen in the tv series) or maybe even Judi Dench.. right casting is very important in these films but sometimes they sell out for profit more then keeping it real
