TO BOLDLY GO: A Bold New Direction For E-Novels

August 24, 2005 By S. K. Sloan Leave a Comment

Do you get most of your reading done using E-Novels?
Do you like to read Science Fiction?
Do you love Star Trek?
Do you enjoy being delighted and surprised?

If you answered YES to any or all of these questions, then I have a place for you to Browse and Dive right into.

To Boldly Go“To Boldly Go” is a new E-Novel online Website that has been launced by three of the most gifted science fiction writers to come along in quite some time. I call them gifted because the youngest is barely a teenager and the oldest is barely in his twenties; yet, their online Star Trek novels have the breath of insight and inspiration that is normally reserved for the more seasoned writers of the genre. Going by the pseudonyms, “Captain Hair,” “Sevens” and “Cougar,” these three young men individually, and as a writing team, are breathing new life into the written Star Trek legacy.

I first became aware of their talents several months ago when one of the writers, “Captain Hair” [real name is Derek Kessler], independently introduced his E-Novel “Star Trek: Aldrin.” Almost immediately I noticed that there was something uniquely fresh about this tome. I have been reading Star Trek novels for over 30 years, and to be quite honest with you, except for a relatively few, most were beginning to become quite stale and predictable. But this Aldrin novel had the spark and ingenuity of the Roddenberry Trek I’d come to know and love.

“Captain Hair” has since partnered up with “Sevens” and “Cougar” and this new creative team are developing a new line of Star Trek E-Novels that promise to captivate any Sci-Fi enthusiast.

They have endeavored to create a series of stories centered around the continuing saga of Star Trek: Enterprise and its crew as if it would have had life beyond Season Four. Their latest installment “A Dish For The Gods” is an Enterprise trilogy. All three parts are currently completed and can be downloaded FREE in PDF Format by visiting their Website.

On the Uncle Sam scale of 1 to 5, I give this creative and imaginative effort called To Boldly Go a robust 4 and a hearty 6 Thumbs Up.
