Director Joseph Kosinski and actor Leonardo DiCaprio are teaming up for a big screen remake of the iconic TV cult classic, The Twilight Zone. DiCaprio is onboard the project as the film’s producer.
The last Kosinski-DiCaprio uncredited collaboration resulted in the 2013 Tom Cruise/Morgan Freeman sci-fi box office success titled Oblivion. Kosinski’s Tron: Legacy was nominated for an Oscar in 2010.
Many Rod Serling enthusiasts have been hopeful for a new big screen treatment of the 1960’s hit TV show which was created and hosted by Serling. Other attempts at reviving the classic in film and on television have been adequately received in the past and include such high profile directors as Steven Spielberg, John Landis and others. The last small screen version appeared in 2002 and featured Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker (Lee Daniel’s The Butler) filling Serling’s role as narrator and show host.
