Cage To Star In “Left Behind” Reboot

Actor Nicholas Cage is bringing about the end of the world.

The actor is set to star in a silver screen reboot of the best-selling Christian Left Behind series.

Paul Lalonde, the writer and producer of the original set of movies, and John Patus, who worked on the final entry 2005′s Left Behind: World at War, have written a screenplay and are hoping to take the movie series in a more mainstream direction and are eyeing a budget in the $15 million range.

It’s hoped to make a trilogy based on the nine-book series.  The series has already come to the silver screen before with Kirk Cameron in the lead role.
