Starz Says More “Torchwood” Possible

Starz Says More “Torchwood” Possible

March 28, 2012 By Michael Hickerson 1 Comment

Starz CEO Chris Albrecht says there could be more Captain Jack headed to our screen, but it might be a while before we see new Torchwood episodes.

Albrecht says that part of the issue is finding time in producer Russell T. Davies schedule to work on a new season.

“You know, Russell [T Davies] is so busy,” he said. “Obviously, we’re in touch with the BBC all the time. They are our partners on [new shows] DaVinci’s Demons and Harem. We told them, we stand by ready for any news, but I think it would be a while before Russell came back to Torchwood.”

I have a solution: Pass the torch (no pun intended) off to someone else as show runner. Then we can get new episodes of Torchwood sooner rather than later because when a studio execs are eager the last think you want to do is make them wait too long (they generally have a very short attention span). Having a network excited about your product is a rare thing indeed & if Davies is intelligent & not so egocentric he would do the right thing.
