Terry Brooks’ best-selling Magic Kingdom: For Sale–Sold has been optioned by Warner Brothers.
Brooks broke the news via his web site.
Warners purchased the movie rights for Akiva Goldsman’s Weed Road Pictures and Andy Cohen’s Grade A Entertainment. Goldsman and Cohen will produce with Weed Road’s Kerry Foster and Alex Block overseeing for Weed Road. Warner Brothers’ Matt Cherniss brought the book series into the studio and will run point. Brooks was represented by Anne Sibbald of Janklow & Nesbit Associates.
Brooks says that while the novel being optioned is a good first step, that doesn’t necessarily mean a movie will happen. However, Brooks does hint that a major actor is interested in the project and that a screenwriter is currently developing a screenplay for the film. Brooks notes he’s optimistic about the chances of the novel making the jump to the silver screen.

This is a great book. It also would make for a good movie as it has action, magic and humor in it.
Looking forward to it.
