You’d think the producers would have seen this coming…
Universal has decided to pass on a big-screen person of Ouija. Citing budgetary reasons, the studio has decided it will no longer pursue a big-screen version of the board game.
The project was one of six movies in development based on Hasbro board games. McG was attached to direct the film.
Insiders say the studio, when it came time to move forward with a greenlight, came to the conclusion Ouija wasn’t right for the company at its current price (the budget hasn’t been revealed but it is described as “tentpole level”).
Reports indicate the producers plan to shop the film to another studio.
