Remembering Tom Mankiewicz

Script writer Tom Mankiewicz, who wrote screenplays for Superman and James Bond, has passed away at the age of 68.

The son of writer-director Joseph L. Mankiewicz and actress Rosa Stradner, Tom Mankiewicz (pictured, with actor Martin Landau, left, at a 2009 AMPAS event) also left his mark on TV, where he co-wrote and directed the pilot for the husband-and-wife mystery series "Hart to Hart," on which he served as a creative consultant for the show's five-year run.

BBC Confirms 13 Episodes of "Doctor Who" Next Year

The BBC picked up two series of the Steven Moffat led "Doctor Who" before series five began. Many of us assumed the series would run thirteen episodes since that's been the model since the series returned in 2005.

The BBC confirmed this yesterday, saying we'll get the thirteen regular season episodes plus a Christmas speical for series six.

Fox Delays "Terra Nova"

Looks like we'll have to wait a little longer for "Terra Nova."

Fox announced that it will push back the premiere of the Steven Spielberg produced series from winter 2011 to fall of 2011.

Comedy Show Runner Lobbies To Take Show Off Line

While many shows embrace a fan's ability to catch-up on episodes on-line, the producer of ABC's hit comedy "Modern Family" wishes his show would be removed from the Internet.

Steven Levitan said that he's lobbied the network to remove his series from its on-line, streaming content, saying that people should have to watch the show a regular ad-supported TV. Levitan contends that the two million people watching the show on-line aren't "fully monetized."
