“Scott Pilgrim” DVD Will Have Alternate Ending

“Scott Pilgrim” DVD Will Have Alternate Ending

August 26, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

spilgrimWhen “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” hits DVD and Blu-Ray, among the extra features on the disc will be an alternate ending.

Actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead revealed the news this week, saying that director Edgar Wright filmed two endings for the film.

There will be SPOILERS for the film from this point in the story. So if you don’t want to know, turn back now…

n the movie, Michael Cera’s Scott Pilgrim ends up winning the heart of Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), but Wright also shot an alternate finale where the hero ends up with his on-off girlfriend Knives Chau (Ellen Wong).

“I’m sure Edgar will have that (the Knives ending) on the DVD, I can’t imagine that not being so. You’ll get to see them both, I think,” Winstead told Digital Spy.

Discussing the relationship between the comic and movie, the actress added: “I think initially they were really happy with the idea that the film and the books might have a completely different ending and that was going to be okay and we’d go our separate ways.

“I think when the book was done and it had closure in this specific way, I think everyone felt that it would be best if the movie came to that same conclusion.”

    I liked it the way it was. VERY entertaining. However, I’d love to see what else they had in mind.

    I saw this at the movies and loved it.

    So – I bought the blu-ray – but WOOAH – there’s some really good parts form the movie that are completely missing from the blu-ray version (eg: the Knives dance solo) !!!

    Me = not happy!!!
