“The Incredible Shrinking Man” Added to National Film Registry

Joining such genre greats as “Star Wars,” “E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial” and “Alien” in the National Film Register is the 1957 film, “The Incredible Shrinking Man.”

Based on the novella by Richard Matheson (who wrote the screenplay), the film follows a man who is slowly shrinking away into nothingness.

The film was one of 25 movies that were announced as inductees into the National Film Register.
