Labine: “Reaper” Is Dead

June 10, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: TV News

Fans holding out hope for a syndicated version of “Reaper,” won’t like the latest news from actor Tyler Labine.

Labine, who plays Sock on the show, tells TV Guide On-Line that the rumored syndication extention for the show is a “no-go” and “it’s not officially, officially dead, but as far as everyone is concerned, it’s over.”

However, there is some good news for fans.

According to actor Bret Harrison, “Reaper” will live on in a series of comic books.  Harrison said the comics will pick up and run with the cliffhanger from season two.

Harrison also said that had a third season come to light, he felt like the show was moving in the direction of making Andi a Reaper as well.

No word yet on when the comic series will hit stores or how you can translate Ray Wise’s performance to the printed page, but we’ll let you know more details when we hear them.

Syndication should actually be a real possibility for Reaper. We know the CW affiliates want to buy the show. The problem? ABC isn’t offering a contract. So we’re showing them the money. If you have recently purchased S1 or S2 Reaper DVDs, let us know at ReaperDMV. We’re gathering 1000 receipts to send in.

Google “reaperdmv” if you want to help out!
