Paramount Sets Date for “Transformers 3”

Paramount Sets Date for “Transformers 3”

March 17, 2009 By Michael Hickerson 1 Comment

The Transformers will get a trilogy according to Variety.

Paramount Pictures announced yesterday that the third installment for “Transfomers” would open on July 1, 2011.  According to Variety, Paramount insiders said the studio wanted to lock down a date for the movie in an increasingly busy and full summer for 2011.

The announcement was the first news many had heard about a trilogy for the franchise.  The first movie was a solid hit at the box-office and a second installment is set to open later this year.

A writer hasn’t been hired yet for the third film, nor was there news of whether director Michael Bay and stars Shia LeBouf and Megan Fox would return for the third film.

You’d think they’d wait until they saw whether the 2nd film did well.
