A few weeks ago on Slice of SciFi #196, we reported that Warner Brothers had put their superhero projects from the DC Universe on hold. And while it appears that may be for the proposed “Superman” and “Justice League” films, it appears that the big-screen adaptation of “Green Lantern” is moving forward.
According to Variety, Warner Brothers is currently in talks with Martin Campbell to direct the “Green Lantern” movie. Campbell has directed the action blockbuster “Zorro” movies and the James Bond film, “Goldeneye” and would appear to be a great candidate for “Green Lantern.”
The script for the film is by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.
No word yet on who would be cast in the lead role or when production could begin.

hmmm… ok, I do think GL is one of the coolest designs of a character yet I also find him the most difficult to write for, mostly because he truly is an omnipotent which is usually even more difficult on the big screen

Campbell has proved excellent at starting–or more specifically, restarting–franchises, so he’s perfect to helm something like this. His two Bond movies are two of my favourites in that series.
