“Priest” Names a Director

December 17, 2008 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: Film News

After coming so close, yet so far to a movie adaptation, the comic-book series “Priest” has been granted a second chance. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Scott Charles Stewart will take the director’s seat for the upcoming Screen Gems production.

The story is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire and follows a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece.

The project was close to becoming a reality a few years ago with Gerard Butler and Steven Strait starring and directed by Andrew Douglas.

Now it looks like “Priest” has been given a second life with Stewart directing a script by Cory Goodman.
