Brandon Stacy — New Voyages -Phase II’s New Spock

Brandon Stacy — New Voyages -Phase II’s New Spock

December 16, 2008 By Sam Sloan 1 Comment

Jeff Hayes was able to sit down with Brandon Stacy, the latest actor to put on the Vulcan ears and play the iconic Star Trek seminal character Spock for Star Trek New Voyages (Phase II).

Here is just a sample of Jeff’s great interview with Brandon. For the full content visit the official Star Trek New Voyages-Phase II website HERE. Besides the interview New Voyages also has some great photographs of Brandon as Spock and one in which he and Zachary Quinto (the new Spock for the J.J. Abrams big screen feature Trek film) are hanging out together.

A veteran of show business, Brandon has starred in films and TV shows such as “Grace and Mercy,” “Weeds,” “Dead Man Walking,” and many more. He will be appearing as a Klingon in the new Abrams feature film “Star Trek” due out May 2009.

Jeff Hayes (JH): How did you come to be involved with Star Trek: Phase II?

Brandon Stacy: James (Cawley – Phase II executive producer) and I met at Paramount Studios, on set of JJ Abrams’ STAR TREK. I expressed interest in New Voyages/Phase II. We stayed in touch and I had intended on being a guest star of an episode. Eventually the role Spock opened up, he thought I would be perfect.

JH: Well, the fact is, you actually played Spock before – what can you tell us about your experience on the Star Trek (XI) movie set?

Brandon: Yes, for about four months I was fortunate enough to be on set with JJ Abrams, doubling for Spock and standing in for my long lost brother, Zachary Quinto. Incredible experience working with JJ. What a fantastic cast and crew!

JH: Do you have a favorite moment or experience from the current shoot – so far?

Brandon: I got to try my Robert Deniro impression in Spock make-up and attire. Let’s just say it was a “Mind-Meld” to remember.

Jeff Hayes played Spock as good as anyone could have. I really liked his performance.
