Hick’s Picks 52

November 11, 2008 By Michael Hickerson 1 Comment

“The Dark Knight” is closing in on $1 billion in world-wide box-office receipts.  Monday’s ticket sales pushed the summer blockbuster to $528,535,317 domestically (just $72,252,871 below “Titanic”‘s record) and $469,000,000 overseas.

Warner Brothers is planning another push of the film in theaters after the first of the year with the hopes of generating some Oscar attention for the film.

The new teaser trailer for “Star Trek” will be shown before showings of “Quantum of Solace” this weekend and will debut on-line next Monday. An official countdown has begun at the movie’s official site.

Actor Michael Trucco, who plays Starbuck’s husband and one of the Final Five Cylons Anders on “Battlestar Galactica” will guest star on an upcoming episode of “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit”.  The episode is scheduled to air December 9.

Producer Joel Silver recently told IGN that he’d like to see Danny Glover and Mel Gibson back together for “Lethal Weapon 5.”

“We talked about it, but it was something that Mel didn’t want to do now,” Silver explained. “It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t want to do it ever, but as of right now, he doesn’t. If we can do it, it would be fun. Shane [Black] had a great take on it, a great idea, a great feeling about it. He did a really complex kind of treatment or outline, very complicated, very good. The idea that they wanted to get it up right away, we couldn’t do that, but we’ll see what happens.”

During last night’s episode of “Heroes,” NBC showed a new sneak peek at this season’s highly anticipated “Twilight.” If you missed the footage, here’s what you missed:

I didn’t miss the Twilight footage so much as I actively tried to avoid it.

Seriously, why this thinly veiled piece of abstience-only, woman should submit to man propaganda is so popular confounds me.
