Staffing Changes for Heroes

November 3, 2008 by Summer Brooks   || Category: TV

Heroes has struggled this season, with both the ratings and the story, and apparently the frustration with both has led NBC execs to let go of writer-producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb.

Both Alexander and Loeb have been with the series since the beginning, working directly under series creator and executive producer Tim Kring.

Octh. I thought Jeph Loeb. was one of the most talented guys on the show. That hurts

Oh. Bad, bad, bad idea, Heroes. When your show is struggling, the best idea is *not* to get rid of some of your best writers.

    I’m loving it this year

If it helps the show make sense again, I’m all for it. Right now, I don’t know why any of the characters are doing what they’re doing.

I don’t necessarily think getting rid of two of your stronger writers is the solution. Add to it that all their direction comes from Tim Kring.

I think Kring needs to be replaced.

Another Hollywood knee jerk reaction as usual. This show is most likley lost now not to return. Sorry to see it go.

Hopefully it will help the show. We gave up on it after the 2nd episode this season. We’ve got better things to watch.

Geez, what a bunch of whiners. I swear, you people are seraching for things not to like about the show, in order ot justify your pre-existing hatred of it based on soemthign you heard somebody else say. Well, I’ve actually been watching it this season, and it while it had a roguth start, things are really going strong now, and firing these writers was a HUGE mistake. It’s the same thing that happened to the Bionic Woman remake. Started out promising, then NBC changed writers, and, well, we all know how THAT went.

I’mnot searching for something to dislike about the show. I’ve been a huge fan since day one. I just want the show to make sense again. I want the characters to be more than plot devices with legs.

I love the show and my wife actually is watching sci fi when before she had no interest. We loved the first two seasons, but this season has been pretty ridiculous. I’ve had to work to keep my wife interested, but she thinks its become too much like daytime soaps with super powers. Admittedly we are up to the 6th episode and have to catch up, but its getting harder to be motivated. I think they lost their way from the first year where it was about normal people finding they have powers. I’d hoped they could keep that level headed approach, but its gotten out of control and the characters are no longer valid. Changing the writers, especially midseason, is probably not going to help. I just hope that the series can come back to its roots and wonderment. I’ll keep watching, but it better be getting better with the midseason finale.
