While Fox is considering the possible cancelation of “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” one of its newest SF shows is getting a call from the network for more episodes.
It would seem that “Fringe” has captured the attention of more than just the sci-fi geek crowd, which most of our readers belong to, and like the CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory,” has gone mainstream. With the variety of demographic ratings showing improvement with each new episode Fox has decided to order up a full season’s worth of episodes of the X-Files-esque series.
“Fringe,” the newest skein from the genius of J.J. Abrams (“Lost,” “Star Trek”), got off to a mediocre start but is currently ranked as the number one program of any new network show in that all-important 18-49 demographic as well as an increase in female viewers since it debuted 3-weeks ago.
“Fringe” follows FBI agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) and her bizarre team of investigators consisting of an eccentric, mentally disturbed doctor (John Noble), his prodigy, but independently rebellious son (Joshua Jackson) and a boss (Lance Reddick) with his own secrets to keep. The group’s job is to track unusual, unexplained, disturbing events happening around the globe.

I’m glad to hear this. It’s one of my new favorite shows.
I agree. The first episodes were not very engaging and I can see where real SciFi geeks could poke at it, but this latest episode (With the ‘cylinder’ and the ‘observer’) really got me interested. Hopefully the story arc will maintain and the Pattern will start to form one…
If they decide to keep Fringe and cancel Terminator, I’m done with Fox permenantly. Not that I hate Fringe, but it was better the first time I saw it (as the X-Files). Leave it to the penny pinching execs to Fox everything up again.
I think “Fringe” is way better than “Terminator”. Now, “Terminator” is still better in its second season than it’s first, but it’s nowhere near as enjoyable as the movies. Not yet anyway.
This show is so freaking hokey, and I too could pass on another X-Files rehash, but damn, I don’t miss an episode. Why? Walter! He’s awsome. Go Walter!
