In The News:

  • Hollywood is digging another film out of the archives for a remake. One clue — O.J. Simpson never made it to Mars.
  • Doctor Who will finally meet up on stage with one of Starfleet’s finest Captains this year, which helps to explain the shortened “Doctor Who” season.
  • From the International News Desk: “MW,” a live-action thriller based on the 1976 comicstrip from manga superstar Osamu Tezuka coming to theaters in 2009.
  • Special Segment: Carl & Di of He & She Said dish out a movie review of “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.”

    Movie Talk:

  • Will director McG have an eye-popping, earth-shaking surprise ending to his take on the Terminator franchise with the fourth film in the series, “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins”?
  • Three words “Welcome to Smurftown.”
  • Slice of Trivia: Kurt in St. George shares 3 clips from “Before they were anime.” Mike shares a nostalgic moment about his early days in Nebraska and viewing an amazing screening of “Heavy Metal.”

    TV Talk: President Franklin Roosevelt is no doubt rolling over in his grave at the thought of his famous one-liner (“The only thing you have to fear is fear itself”) being used by NBC for a new summer horror anthology series titled “Fear Itself.”

    Summer shares some news about an all new podcast about “Charlie Jade” with weekly commentary from series executive producer and co-creator Robert Wertheimer. Look soon for it on CharlieJade.net.

    Interview: Producer Trevor Roth and internationally known cartoonist/artist David Reddick bring fans up-to-date on all that is going on in the sci-fi world and particularly from Roddenberry Productions and Roddenberry.com.

    Future Talk:
    It looks like Bruce Willis may be taking on the part of Adam “Kane” Marcus for the next big videogame to big screen motion picture with “Kane and Lynch” Dead Men.”

    Edgar Pierre Jacob’s popular comic book “La Marque jaune,” or “The Yellow Mark” will be getting a feature film from director Alex de la Iglesia.

      What happened to Charliejade.com ? I remember sometime ago Summer said she convinced Robert to renew the site. Seems like a better address than dot net.

      Re: Kane and Lynch. The movie rights were actually sold before the game was even completed. It might be an interesting trend that there are games created with the movies in mind.

      Well, it might be an Eidos-only thing (owner of franchises such as Hitman and Tomb Raider) though, as they already have some experience with this.

      Re: The A-Team movie.

      Bruce Willis seems like a decent choice–he’s got the gravitas and the sense of humor to pull off a decent Hannibal.

      However, he’s stepping into a well-established role, and some purists may not like him there. He should be careful. The fans may hoist him by his own Peppard.

      Doctor Who isn’t going to only do specials next year because of David Tennant doing Hamlet. The break is supposedly so new showrunner Steven Moffat can get his version of the show ready. DT took the Hamlet role *after* they had already decided to take the break.
