According to a report from Ain’t It Cool News, Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell have stepped in to save Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.”
Heath Ledger was the star of the film which was shooting in England at the time of his death. The three superstars will all play the role of Tony, which was originally designed with Ledger in mind.
“The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus,” co-stars Christopher Plummer as Dr. Parnassus, singer/actor Tom Waits, Lily Cole, Andrew Garfield and Verne Troyer. It tells the fantasy tale about Tony, a man who steps into three different mirrors with each mirror transporting him into a new dimension; these new worlds will now be inhabitated by Depp, Law, and Farrell.
The signing of Depp, Law and Farrell will keep Gilliam’s project from failure, something the famous filmmaker needs after the several set backs he has suffered over the years with some of his past movies. “Dr. Parnassus” is schedule for theatrical release sometime in 2009.
