“Witchblade” In Awesome Anime

September 18, 2007 By Sam Sloan 5 Comments

wb3.jpgSought by the greed of men since the dawn of humankind, but only bestowed upon the woman whose fate it forever scars – The Witchblade! Is it the ‘Righteous Sword of God,’ or the ‘Hand of the Devil’ himself?

Now a new bearer has been chosen and she must discover the answers for herself. As she stands on the brink of destiny, she is forced to seek the balance between ectasy and ruin…now you too can see “Witchblade” the way it was intended to be seen.

Masane is the latest in a long line of female bearers of the Witchblade, an arcane and ancient weapon of unthinkable power. Conscripted into the service of the Doji Group, she is charged with destroying X-Cons, a murderous scourge of mysterious origin stalking the streets of Tokyo.

The doting mother of Rihoko, and more than a little flighty, Masane is willing to make any sacrifice to provide for the young girl that provides her only peace.

The new animated “Witchblade” Volume One on DVD becomes available September 25, 2007.

I started watching this when it first came out. I really couldn’t get past the first few episodes. It just wasn’t very good and was geared more for fan service than anything else. The TV series with Yancy Butler was much better.

No doubt, the Yancy Butler live-action television series was heads-above this, but this isn’t too bad. Something to hold Witchblade fans over until the next promised live-action big-screen flick gets started.

This anime… what can I say… I struggled to finish it since my brother got it. I must admit that as a neutral… it’s forgetable

This anime is so amazing and so sad. I hated in how Masane sacrificed herself in the end it was just way to sad, I broke down into tears when it ended so quick with only 24 episodes and that the fact the Masane died.

Just finished the anime Witchblade, and enjoyed it a lot. Take a while to really get into. The TV series with Yancy Butler was a bit of a bore. What made this anime really good – was the mother/daughter relationship that builds to a very sad climax at the end of the show.
