Adrian Paul makes another trip to the small screen as Duncan MacLeod in a SCI FI Channel movie called “Highlander: The Source.”
The series which came first to prominence on the big screen nearly 22 years ago, starring action star Christopher Lambert in the iconic role of an ancient scottish warrior born to immortality spawned several spin-off films, none as successful as the original.
Once “Highlander” moved to the small screen it became an immediate fan favorite lasting six seasons as a series which blossomed into several made-for-TV movies, a miniseries and an animated series. Throughout the series and the TV films, actor Adrian Paul played Duncan MacLeod.
In 2000 an unsuccessful attempt at pairing both Lambert (Connor McLeod) and Paul (Duncan McLeod) was made for the big screen with “Highlander: Endgame.”
In this latest Highlander saga, Duncan seeks the origin of the Immortal’s power, the very same force that has gripped him in a constant battle where there can only be one.
Besides Paul, the film will star Thekla Reutenz (Anna Teshemka), Cristian Solimeno (The Guardian), Peter Wingfield returns as McLeod’s mysterious friend Methos, Jim Byrnes (Joe Dawson), Stephen Rahman Hughes (Zai Jie), Stephen Wight (Reggie Weller) and Thom Fell as Cardinal Giovanni.
You can catch a brief glimpse of the feature HERE.
“Highlander: The Source” airs on the SCI FI Channel this Saturday, September 15 at 9/8C.

i was unfortunate to see this on dvd a few months ago and it is truly a terrible film the source thing could have been made to be something epic instead its what it is and kinda makes the whole of the history of the franchise a mockery (you will see what i mean if you watch it) and also the resolution of some chariters plotlines is to me a true highlander fan a great insult the acting in general from adrian and peter and jim byrnes are in keeping with established actions and motives but i have to say this is about 10 times worse than highlander:endgame which wasnt very good in the first place!!!
if you decide to watch this be warned that it may change you outlook on the serise and films of old and not for the better you may be better of without the knowlage of what happens in this film highlander the source

There can be only one!
I pretty much disregarded everything after the first movie (which I love!) everything else just didn’t make sense to me whenever I kept trying to connect it to the original.

Agreeing with you Mr Wall.
I always say, “There should have only been one”.

I realize the second movie is generally considered the Battlestar Galactica 1980 of film but it was a fun sci-fi movie. Highlander The Final Dimension was the best sequel to the first one because it captured so much of what the first movie was about. Then obviously the fourth one was er, lets move on to the new movie. I’v been looking foreward to this since I first heard about it a few years back so we shall see how it ranks (no pun intended).

What I still don’t understand was why Chris Lambert in the last Highlander: End Game was not the one? Did I miss something from the first Highlander? While the Highlander tv series was one of my favorite shows in the 90’s, the movies have been very uneven since the first. So as to this new movie, I’m not sure if it will fit with the other 4 films. Any clues???

I really, really liked Endgame, but I suspect I was the only one who did.
The Source sucked. There’s two hours of my life I can never get back.

There is not enough booze in the house to make this film watchable.

Um yeah i just watched that piece of trash. i can honestly say that endgame was oscar worthy compared to this and thats saying alot.what a disappointment. i was pretty pissed that that panzy duncan offed connor in the last one but now im glad that connor didnt get his name tarnished by being in this one.

Good lord, this movie was horrid. It amazes me how these turkeys even get funded. What investor thought this whole train wreck seemed like a good idea?

I was a huge fan of the Highlander, the TV series; and I still am. But this last film, i.e., The Source, is a worthless piece of trash. I’m very disappointed. I wasn’t disappointed with Endgame, but I wasn’t doing jumping jacks either. Bill Panzer produced a great TV series in this franchise; and what sets the TV series apart from the films is that the series was character driven. There was a good story to the main character and how certain events, both good and bad, shaped them to be who they are. That is what made Highlander the series special. But when they decided to make the films, especially the Source, they forgot the formula that made the TV series great. I can’t believe Adrian Paul went along with this after the great work he did on the series.

Now, this was suppose to be a 3 part series, what happened to that plan? I was actually wanting to see what direction they would have taken the storyline from how they ended the Source.
